This weekend we ended up with family visiting, they stayed overnight with us, a total of seven. Out of the seven three had not met or seen Buddy before and Buddy loves attention. Two of the three was a niece and a nephew, the third was a parent. When we get home, Buddy greets everyone. The kids know not to stick their fingers in Buddy's cage and respect him. They say hello to him, I made popcorn for movies and let them give him a couple pieces in his bowl.

The two that hadn't seen him wanted him to come out so I asked Buddy and he came out. He loves to show off, the kids are asking questions and they are learning. Without warning Buddy takes off flying around the room, heading towards two people, they hide under their blanket. He circles around the room and lands on the parent that he just met, on his back and starts climbing to his shoulder. Four of the kids are screaming and run into the bedroom hiding, my first thought National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, the squirrel coming out of the tree. I start laughing, run and rescue the parent of Buddy, I was worried he might get to his shoulder, realize he didn't know him and bite, while his wife was trying to take a picture. I returned him to his cage and four heads popped out of the bedroom to see if it was safe. I must say Buddy is an excellent flyer, he lands beautifully. Me? I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to have an accident. Add to that I had abdominal surgery several years ago, have adhesions and they were hurting from all the laughter, I was crying it hurt and funny at the same time. Everyone was laughing after, no one was hurt, and the kids were askng more questions about Buddy, learning.

I love teaching and I'm thinking about seeing how Buddy and I can visit people and teach, like nursing homes, schools etc. out of coureosity does any one do this? I would like to find out how others do this. Buddy loves people but there is a line, no touching. I think he would like it. My sister does visits with her pug to nursing homes and the residence love it. Any thoughts and suggestions are welcomed.

Awww... poor Buddy just wanted to make new friends and everyone runs in fear lol.

If you WERE to take him out, I would strongly suggest he stay in a cage or at minimum be harnessed for his safety and everyone else's. The people at the old folks home may not be able to run for their lives if Buddy decided to come say "hi":D

LOL! So true! The group my sister works with put animals through a test. My Lola doesn't pass because she likes to grab arms and hands with her paws and claws, gently of course but she wants a chest rub. Some elderly folk have such fragile skin she could injure them. So she doesn't pass their test. I haven't had Canelo or Chug tested but I'm thinking about testing them and Buddy. I agree Buddy would have to be harnessed or caged.

On Saturday we broke down with a blow out, spent 4 hours in a tire shop. Lola, Chug, Canelo and Buddy were stars, they greeted everyone that came in, took selfies with people, loved babies, they were a hit. Buddy was in his cage and said Hello to everyone that came in the store, thousands of times to make sure they heard him. It was so hot outside, we were stranded so the staff let our animal family come inside the cool waiting area. However they had everyone smiling, especially the kiddos and a few men. That's what really made me start thinking again about this, Buddy just lights up!

Hey, at 24 years old it may be time for Buddy to get his lazy tail off the perch and get a job..... As the tire store greeter! C'mon, he'd be *perfect*- enthusiastic, happy to receive peanuts as payment and he's pretty darn cute, he'd reel em' in from the street:D:D:D
