Well that amazon I adopted had the name kiwi from the first owner however it was never used. She responds more to pretty girl which is what the 2nd owner named her. I have no problem with that but she needs a proper name. And also too many kiwis on the forum :09:. So will you guys help me in picking a name? I'd be ever so grateful. :D :green:

Pics are coming I promise but she's still timid around me so I don't want to shove my camera in her face. And we scheduled an appointment with our av for the beginning of oct. She hangs her left wing lower than her right from a previous run in with a ceiling fan per previous owners.

I actually kind of like the name "Pretty Girl". I know you don't have pics yet, but I bet she is:D Other random names I would consider for a female BFA:

Azure

Aurora

Ivy

Sunny

Alika

Catalina

I agree, your pretty girl has earned a new name. I cringe every time I see ceiling fan and parrot in the same sentence, poor bird, sounds like she's been through a lot. I hope her vet visit goes well. Lots of names to choose from.

Bella

Molly

Amelia

Marley

Bailey....

I'm sure you'll come up with a name that fits your girl perfectly.

Then you decided on Molly:D I think that's a perfect name for such a pretty girl!

Ninjette- we have an unofficial "Kiwi" club on here it's such a popular name:20: But you do have to admit, the inside of a kiwifruit does look very much like the outside of many species of parrot:

Or, instead of Molly, you could call her Melanie, Mellie for short. That's my cat's name.

Melon-ee, geddit? Honeydew Melon-ee. :D

If you have a Kiwi your a member (thus an unofficial Kiwi Club)!:D We really should start a social group though;) Theres a lot of Kiwi's on here! I never realized how common it was until I joined this forum either. Our Kiwi came named, and changing his name was the least of our worries when we got him:rolleyes:

Hey mods- can we start a "Kiwi Club" social group, or would that disclude too many members to be fair?

I didn't realise how common it was at first, I just thought "Kiwi's" owner was a very prolific poster on the forum and that "Kiwi" got up to a lot of antics :D

I'm not sure it would exclude all that many members? Extremely popular parrot name. I thought at first it was only green birds, like the fruit, but I've seen a cockatiel and a CAG named Kiwi. I guess their owners named the birds for their feathered friend's favorite treat.

I think she's already decided, but another suggestion is Iona. They could keep Kiwi as his "surname". Iona Kiwi. Perfect. :D

Pure genius! I love it. I haven't 100% decided I think kiwi might stick. After all I hate to be excluded from the club :09:

Not original, I'm afraid. I once met someone whose grandmother was called Iona Lemon. I've never forgotten it and often pull out "Iona" when there's something good to pear it with. (pear! geddit?! :D)
