Kelly decided he wanted to wrestle for the first time this morning! He never did one grab that was too hard and didn't get over excited:) He is definitely a cockatoo amazon;)

Hehe. Kelly seems like a normal zon to me! Kiwi does that too, he even instigates it sometimes;)

I love the last pic BTW! Awesome head fluff he has going on there.

Reminds me of my Pecker-Bird. When these guys love, they love completely.

And that's pretty much true of all the pair bond birds...

He is a sweetheart with me but doesn't tolerate anyone else talking to him. He actually walked up to one of our visitors that was sitting on the couch and bit her on the arm:eek: Usually he makes a bunch of noise but he was completely quiet for that one. He also stalks my stepfather and when he hears the door open he books it across the floor to angrily curse him out in Kelly talk when he comes home.... He also used to like Jeanne but doesn't really tolerate her anymore either:rolleyes: As long as he doesn't actively go after people he is alright and he is getting better about that in general. He actually spent the afternoon on the couch with me with mother and stepfather sitting on it too without biting or trying to chase anyone away.

Overbonding issue. It happens with pair bond birds. The other people need to be firm with him and be prepared to towel him when he pulls that stuff. It won't make him any friendlier with them, but it will stop the "attacky" behaviors.

He's trying to drive everyone else away from the nest, so that he can have you all to himself...

Love the pics and the fact that he's rolling around with you. Did he start that on his own or did you have to teach him to roll and play like that?

We already knew about the over bonding issue he makes it a bit obvious:p He over bonded from day one and we knew that was just the way he was going to be. I have had my stepfather working with the towel and such for the last couple weeks which is why Kelly is getting better with him. He reacts better to mother but she didn't put up or back down from his behavior so he knows it doesn't work with her.

Kelly just started that morning for some reason. He lets me flip him over without an issue but that morning he was just acting playful and he flopped over grabbing at my fingers:D

That's adorable! I love seeing birds play wrestle, it's seriously the most entertaining thing. I couldn't stop laughing to myself when I was watching it, Kelly was super into it! Thanks for the cute video :)

YEP. NOTHING AT ALL SUBTLE ABOUT IT...

And that's exactly the right way to deal with it. Match him NOT SUBTLE for NOT SUBTLE. (And yet, it's so entertaining at the same time, as long as there's a towel or a couch cushion near by.)
