If anyone remembers the children's book "If You Give a Moose a Muffin", where the moose just keeps wanting more and more things, we had that scenario play out this morning:rolleyes: Now, Kiwi doesn't typically get sugary foods, but he's been such a good boy trying all my raw vegan foods this past month, I decided he could have a piece of my husbands cereal (which is the "all natural" version of "Honey Grahams". So here's my little "story";):

If You Offer Your Zon a Honey Graham

If you offer your zon a honey graham, he will want to choose his own

And if let him choose his own, the ones in the bag will not be good enough and he will demand one from your bowl.

When you cave to his aggressive pursuit of the ones in your bowl, he will lick each an every one before deciding which one is best.

And since making decisions is NOT his strong suit, he will take 2 instead of one!

Once he has finished his ill-gotten second honey graham, he will come back looking for more

When you refuse his request, he will nibble your finger and make rude grunts, then pout the rest of the morning while looking over all his foraging toys for more honey grahams:p

It's a little kids book! I remember it from when I was a kid, and even remembered the first few lines lol. I always loved it and had my parents read it over and over-
If You Give a Moose A Muffin
Funny though, as an adult re-reading it, they must have secretly been cursing ever buying it and contemplating chucking it in the fireplace lol. I'm not sure how good the "story" of how easy it is to get repeatedly taken advantage of whilst you sit there and accept it is really a good plot for a book targeting 2 and 3 year olds....:20: Funny how your perspective changes as an adult. From "the funny moose book" to "people read this to small children?!"

At least sweet Kiwi will never ever ever grow past the mind of a bird!

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Fun stuff!

And also why I have a "no birds at the table" rule in my place. I'd never eat in peace again...

So cute!! I can never get tired of watching cute behaviours like this.

My Zon will not take a bite on a fruit unless I pretend that I am eating it, then he'll try to keep it all to himself once he tastes that it is good. I read that it's a typical behaviour of Zons, but I never really believed it until I observed it.

Sounds about right:) If I'm eating a piece of fruit in front of Kiwi, it doesn't matter if I put a chunk in his dish, he wants to eat off the whole piece of fruit I'm eating off:rolleyes:
