Last night she finished her fist 10 day round of the fungicide medication! YAY! Now we get 20 days of no meds! She still has to stick to the kidney diet, but at least no yucky meds!

She has been such a little trooper! Her personality is coming out more and more every day. She is bonding to me and wants ALL my attention! If I talk to or pet the cats she sits and makes her "unhappy, no don't do that" noises. The aquarium on the other hand she LOVES and wants to be on my shoulder when it's feeding time for the fish! She "talks" to them and watches them eat.

Last night at fish feeding time she was on my shoulder and Sassy (my rescue, bottle fed from 2 weeks old, only has 3 1/2 legs kitty) came and put her front paws on my leg and wanted me to pet her and Zilla almost bit Sassy's nose! She growled at Sassy and then turned and kissed the whole side of my face...LOL

I finally got her boing and some new toys in her cage without her freaking out. She was out playing on top of her cage with her swinging gym and watched me put everything inside, then had to go investigate what mommy was playing with. Apparently if I am playing with things and not getting my head bit off then she can play with them and not get eaten.

She is not napping as much as she was before, seems happier and more energetic, she is learning to play by herself and with me.

I love this update, Amanda! Thank you so much for it!

There is no doubt in my mind that Zilla knows how much you love her, and she's repaying the favor to her VERY best ability. :D

Nice to have good news for a change...

And the good thing to come out of this, like my fight to get Sally's behavior and life turned around, and when Pecker was very sick and I nursed her back to health...

THEY GET IT! They really do become ultra bonded when you look after them like this... and then when they feel better? They stay that way!

Great job!

Great job!

I was gone for 3 WHOLE hours yesterday and when I got home you would have thought I had been gone for a week! :D She was so happy to see me again she was dancing and calling to me to come get her out!

I decided she could be in the kitchen with me while I made "birdie bread". I took her "toy box" and put it on the counter about 3 feet away from where I would be working so she would have a place to "be" out of my way. She was happy with that but as soon as I started chopping & grating veggies she would run over and steal a piece and run back like she had scored a major victory! :D Sou Chef would NOT be a good job for her! It literally took twice as long to get the bread made than if I had done it without her, but it was so awesome seeing her so happy!

And birdie bread was such a "hit" with her that she didn't even beg for my pizza crust!

I'm super happy she is getting better and being more active and vocal! :D

I know absolutely nothing about zon's except what I have learned on this forum, but if there is more spunk to come I may be in for some trouble! Not sure she could have any more energy for "helping" me "do" everything, but if she does, I will be needing some more energy to keep up with her! :D

Amanda, Zilla's update is the best news I've heard all day! I've never seen any animal respond to meds as quickly as they respond to love. Meds are necessary, but they don't work as quickly. I'm so happy for both of you.

EXACTLY! And these guys soak it up,and give it back to you. Amazons will light up when you walk in the room... sometimes they will even light up the room.

And up until now, she hasn't been feeling good, so she hasn't had the energy to share that with you. As she feels better and better, she will...

I went through this exact sort of thing, with Pecker, my BFA.

MY MOST BONDED BIRD EVER!!!

And all of mine have been pretty bonded, so that's saying something.

You just watch...
