I *SO* wish i'd had my camera handy last night, because Kiwi was being beyond adorable. I heard him ringing the bells on his swing, so I turned around just in time to see him get off the swing onto his platform perch, ROLL ON HIS BACK and start kicking his treasure chest toy while making happy squealing noises:D This was the first time I've ever seen him roll on his back! I had tears streaming down my face I was laughing so hard, and the harder I laughed the more goofy he got. What a character my boy is! He was pretty pleased with all the attention he got too. I could tell, because he wanted to spend an extra long time sitting on my leg and messing with my hair before bed:20:. I don't know about any of you, but I don't think I could handle a home without a parrot. They add so much laughter and joy:D:D:D!

HAHAHAHAHAH, what an awesome visual! Way to play, Kiwi!! :D

Isn't it so funny how they take our laughter as an incentive to kick it up a notch?

Yep. That's one of those things "bonding" works both ways...

Sally goes through periods where she's like that, hanging upside down and swinging. So does Tusk.

My big goofies, though, are my most constant source of laughter and love... especially that big red one.

Kiwi is a darling, I would have loved to see that! I do agree that the laughter is one of the wonderful parts of being owned by a fid.:D

The treasure chest toy, does it have shapes cut out in the sides and wooden pieces inside cut into those shapes? If so I have one of those and Sailor gets really mad at it because she can't get the stuff out very well. I think it was made for a smaller bird than her. Too big of a beak ;) That sounds so cute though, sometimes it's sad a camera isn't handy when these things happen. My boy Taz bathes in his water bowl and then heads right to the seed bowl which is our treat "outside the cage" thing. He's so happy to be out and with me he acts like a goof. He bathes, and then heads over and rolls his whole upper body in seed and comes out looking like a seed cake. He has spiky wet feathers that make him look like buckwheat off Little Rascals and seed stuck all over his face. The first time he did it my daughter and I laughed so hard we had tears rolling down our faces. Now he does it daily. I should get a photo because it's hilarious!

Yup, that would be the treasure chest toy. Kiwi has a little one too. I unscrewed all the screws and filled it with lots of little toys, some small enough to come out others that are more "permanent";) He LOVES that toy lol.

Probably because we seem so "quiet" to them, but when we are laughing uncontrollably, they're like "hey! The flock is being as loud and goofy as me, what a good bird I am:D"

We haven't seen many new pics of your flock recently you know:54: I think you could make it up to everyone by posting some pics of your babies playing like the big feathered goofballs they are:D

That Kiwi is a beautiful character, lol. I'm finding while amazons are crazy characters, they are cuddle bugs and comedians, lol.

April, I wish you'd had a camera ready for Kiwi's romp, but thanks for describing it so well and sharing it with us. There's something about parrots at play and when they notice someone's paying attention they can really ham it up.

I agree, parrots excel at laughter and joy.
