I have been away from home since June 12th and will get home early tomorrow afternoon the 22nd....apparently Kelly has not been overly happy! I was sent this picture the other day when my mother used a towel to get him out so he could stretch.

What are the chances I lose a limb when he expresses his displeasure about being left:52:

The rest of my flock have lost their minds too apparently:rolleyes: Monkey and Monster won't listen to the parents about going back in their cages. Monster flies around in a panic when they ask him to step up even though he steps up just fine any other time....he has gotten jumpy and twitchy again since I've been gone. My cockatiels are a little more flighty than normal. Folger lasted awhile but he has started doing his nervous talking the last few days and plucked yesterday a little. Kelly is just super angry.

My Loki is the only sane one left....shes been just normal! I guess I had to have one sane one in the group to look at all the others like they are insane:p

Welcome Home, Victoria! Judging from Kelly's expression, you will be held accountable for your absence. I'm glad you have Loki on your side. Hopefully your feathered darlings will be so ecstatic to see you, they'll forget how angry they are.

Hahahahaha! Now that is a glare if ever I've seen one! Guess next time you're going away you'll be chartering a specially modified private transport to accommodate your feathered posse. Lol!

I can only imagine their attitudes! I'm currently away from home for the longest time thus far (2 months in total), and from what I've heard from my boyfriend Avery has turned into a giant monster. I can't imagine an amazon or a cockatoo being unimpressed with me too! You'll have to update us on how they welcomed you home :D

Hahaha Mother wanted to know when I was going away again :p

I look at that pic and hear the voice from the wizard of Ozz

I'll get you my pretty hahaha

I thought he looked a bit like a demon in that pic :52:

I went away for 3 months at one point and everyone lived though Monkey my little gcc conure female sat on my shoulder and complained for an hour or so (Not allowed to use the correct description of the tone lol). I didn't have Kelly or Folger back then though....I think Kelly would live though be super angry not sure how Folger would respond.

Soooo Kelly was super over stimulated when he saw me. Tail flaring, pacing, pinning, ruffled feathers, and talking the whole time. He was excited that I was back but way too hyped up. So I said hello and talked to him a bit and then went out for lunch. When I came back home he was a little calmer so I took him out....he immediately wanted scratches and put a hole in my shirt...at least it wasn't my finger right! He definitely was super mad st the parents though he wanted to follow me around more than eat them at least.

At one point it was funny. Kelly was on our half wall and he can climb down that onto the back of the couch and walk around to me. Well he did that the night I got back but the parents didn't realize he was on the back of the couch walking to me....well he did his little growl thing right behind their heads...never seen them move so fast:D Popcorn and limbs everywhere...I couldn't stop laughing.

My other birds were very talkative when I went downstairs...monster is mad but everyone else was pretty happy :) Folger plucked quite a bit but seems to be calming down now that I've been back for a little while.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
My ZONS do the opposite.

They get clingy bird syndrome. Don't set me down. NEVER LEAVE AGAIN!

Of course, so do the macaws... which can be awkward.

My gccs finally decided to hang out with me tonight instead of being grumpy:) These two are flighted and were doing their we shall not listen and flying away from me all week lol. I try to avoid clipping them since they are my best fliers and seem to love it more than any bird I have but I came very close to getting fed up with their avoidance and no listening mood the last week. They seemed more cooperative after being toweled and having their nails done...maybe they remember the times that toweling meant clipping wings and not just toes just a year or two ago :D

Monster is fully feathered again and I haven't seen any plucking. I've read the ingredients on everything he has been eating. I've been debating switching everyone to a mostly fresh foods diet but not sure I have the time or dedication for the endeavor (mostly the dedication part:54:). We shall see...I figured I'd start trying soon and slowly try to switch it over...I would definitely be the problem more than the birds
