Zilla You're not a Conure!

Been awhile since I've posted anything, but I do log in and check out what you all are doing from time to time. Things have been super busy here, but I thought you all might enjoy a couple pics of the silly Miss Zilla pretending she is a conure. She has started doing this every afternoon when I open her cage. She walks over grabs the collar of my shirt and pulls it up, grabs it with her foot and steps down into my shirt and hangs out for a bit. I thought only conures did this, but apparently zons do too. Also tossed in a pic of the Busy Tree I made with the branches I got from Shirre a couple months ago, cause a busy beak needed a busy tree...and she LOVES it and hangs out on it all the time!

Thanks Itchyfeet! The tree is actually branches I got from another member of the forum (Getwozzy) and was supposed to be a hanging branch play thing and a perch for inside her cage, but being a Zon she did the whole freak out, get that out of my house, and if it moves because you hang it from the ceiling, my feet won't be on it, so I found a little side table and screwed one piece to the top like a tree and placed the other branch in it and tied them together with sisal rope and hung some of her toys on it. I put it close enough to her cage she can get on it by herself and she loves hanging out on it looking out the window now!

Zilla looks great, Amanda! It's obvious she really trusts you, I think it's pretty rare for Zons to behave like conures.

I love Zilla's busy tree. I have one of Shirre/Getwozzy's trees too. It was a perch for the budgies inside their cage for months, now it's a repurposed busy tree for the whole flock to have fun with.

Good job on the tree! I'm glad she used them now [emoji41] next time you pass by my way, you should stop by~ we'll have apples, Bartlett and Asian pears ready to pick soon if you want some [emoji4]

I didn't get a picture of it, but she really goes all the way inside my shirt and peaks out like a conure! We have to do this everyday when I open her cage after lunch. She LOVES the tree now and spends entirely too much time hanging out on it watching the world go by!

I would love to come get some apples & pears! Yummo! Now I can't stop thinking of all the yummy things I could be making if I had some right now. :54:

Thanks! Zilla is very sweet, but she is very unhappy with me right now! Apparently I am not supposed to be sharing her time and food with another parrot. I am hers and hers alone and she doesn't share well! She hasn't even seen him yet, he is in quarantine in the back bedroom, but she can see me take food down the hallway and go in that door, and probably hear me talking to him. I know she hears him call out once in a while.

Shirre has awesome branches and you know you can trust they are safe. I would be afraid to get one from anyone who wasn't a parrot person!
