Bella the BFA
Hi everyone! I have not been posting any updates about Bella lately BUT I have more pictures and updates for everyone!

First I would like to share what happened today. I am not sure if I shared with everyone about this but Bella actually has 2 siblings. She is currently living in a cage with 2 other BFA. As you all know that I visit Bella at least once a week to bond with her and socialize her. Bella's two siblings have already been sold as well and I have asked the workers there before if their owner comes visit their bird because I know that it is best to bond and socialize with your bird when they are a baby. Anyways when I asked them it was a month ago and the babies then seemed nice, because when ever they see me visit Bella they get excited and wants to come out and play as well. SO TODAY when I went to see Bella those two babies were very very aggressive. They would try to bite you when you put your fingers near the cage. One of them even flared their tail at me. I then asked the workers there if their owners come to play with them and they said no. I felt SO bad for them because I have a feeling when they are ready to go home with their owners and they act like that the owners are going to blame the bird for being aggressive when it was partly their fault to begin with...

ANYWAYS today I followed the aviator video and practice with Bella. I lift her wings up one at a time and count to 3. and slightly push her and count to three. At the beginning she was confused why I was doing it and didnt like it but after a couple times she seems to know that when I finish counting to 3 I leave her alone. she did very well today! I did not attempt to put the harness on her because I know she will freak out. So i put the harness on the chair where she can see it so far so good! HERE are some pictures of her now. BTW they said she will be ready to go home next week. I am super excited !:eek::eek:

You MUST stop posting these pictures! They are *really* testing my self restraint at getting a baby blue front;)

Bella is such a sweet, adorable little girl. And all the extra time, gas ext... you've spent to visit her while she was being weaned will really pay off once she comes home. Now she knows you and will be much easier to train and socialize. You must be SO excited:D

Aww Bella is super cute.

Keep practicing with the harness. You will be so happy you got her to where one. I just ordered kiwi a (plet) harness. I have yet to hear from the lady I bought it from. It's starting to make me a little upset.

Kiwi can where her other one (flight suit) but it's a little big and she really doesn't like it. But now that she is 100% flighted I have to do something.

Sad to hear about the aggressiveness of the other two. They need to be socialized too.

Hahah they said next week but it's not for sure. They want to make sure she is fully weaned before I can bring her home but still I'm excited ! Haha

Yeah I agree with you ! Poor siblings... I know that the workers occasionally play with them but if the bird is sold they don't touch them unless you give permission. Plus they are busy weaning other baby birds. I gave them permission to play with Bella when ever they like so I think that's why she's friendlier than the other

What person doesn't want their new bird to come home more socialized and wouldn't want the EXPERIENCED workers handling them:confused: Getting handled by lots of people is good for them! I feel bad for those bids because they are going to homes that clearly haven't done the least amount of research into one of the more difficult species (when they aren't socialized at least!) to handle.

No, I have lots and lots of self control:) I adore Kiwi but I have no room nor the funds to provide the same level of care Kiwi receives to 2. Though I do find baby blue fronts ridiculously adorable!

Yeah.... They were really mean and didn't like people going near the cage.. I hope they get better at their new home...
