Lucy has started to snap at me when I walk near her cage. I don't know why this is happening. She doesn't fan her tail or pin her eyes, she just snaps. It's bothersome to me because we've been having a good relationship. I am confused as to why she does this. Is it cage dominance? Or has she suddenly just lost interest in me?

Does she only do it when she is inside her cage and you are walking by? Does she bite when you have her out and away from her cage?

I'm not real experienced with Zons, but I'm sure someone more experienced can help if you will give a bit more information...

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Maybe she just wants to be OUT OF her cage, and is pouting because she's not.

In any event, don't take these things personally.

Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
Amy is bonded to me closely and even after 27 years she will do that to me too...Sometimes she'll climb all over the inside of her home and follow me lunging at the bars..I believe its a 'zon thing saying this is MY place!
She is as sweet as can be when not near her house. I have learned to live with it ;)
