Yellow Shoulder Amazon, Salty
SO last night I watched the program called "Look Whose Talking" a documentary about parrots and their lives with people and in the wild.
It's not the one showing the excruciating poor condition of 'throw away birds', (which I also reccommend everyone watches too), but a more light hearted one showng wild and companion parrots and their relationships. So Salty, my YSA, was on the the bed with me and once the program started he pretty much stayed on my shoulder and watched the program. Oh he wandered off to play with a shoelace once or twice, but I swear that every time a parrot was on screen , it had his attention. I was really blown away. The scenes with parrots talking really had him riveted and started him off doing his cute muttering and squeeks. He even came over and nuzzled my cheek ( something new from him).

I know parrots can see TV screens ( unlike dogs) but this was pretty amazing, especially his reactions. Earlier in the evening, he was being a bad little parrot, doing hard nibbles on my ears and neck, and in general not acting well, I was even considering putting him in his cage until dinner time. But I remembered someone had re-posted that video ( THANK YOU !!) and decided to watch it with him.

Where were you watching it? Netflix, Amazon, YouTube? I am a very new bird owner (adopted our first cockatiel last week) so I have been trying to read and learn as much as possible.

Hee hee sounds like you and Salty enjoyed yourselves..yes for sure Parrots can see tv and computer screen as my conure who is now gone to rainbow Bridge loved Cartoons and a certain youtube video of a white eyed Conure I found for him...he hated that video being switched off...it had to loop play or he would let me know about it LoL:) My Quaker is more interested in me than she is in tv or youtube but now and again she also watches tv...you are wrong about the dogs as my dogs also watch tv (and react to what they see) and so do my cats....my dogs love animal programs or ball games and the cats are more just into the ball games mostly especially if they can paw the ball around the screen :) As you can see from my comment I have a bit of a crazy house hee hee :) sounds like a Great video
