Hey everyone,

So Rocky just sneezed and I noticed that today he has a runny nose, with a little bit of snot drops around his nostril holes, little ones.

Should I be worried or should I wait a few days to see if he gets better? He wasn't like this at all until now.

The weather in Maine has been weird, it's like Spring outside and not snowing, most of it is gone. I am thinking that it's because of the fluctuation of the weather, rain, snow and now nothing... maybe is doing something? They are not by the window.... but it's cooler in the room then it used to be because a tenant from the first floor controls our heater and I guess with the weather, he is not using the heater as often or as high as normal.

Rocky seems bubbly and not sick, just with a runny nose. But if I need to bring him to a vet immediately I will.

Salty developed a runny nose and sneezing when I first brought him home from the pet store. If it continues tomorrow take him to a vet ASAP to be put on antibiotics. As you know birds hide their illnesses well and if his nose is running he is already pretty sick. In the AM look for flakes of dried snots on the sides of his beak. Was this a clear discharge or was it thicker and mucus like?

Check AccuWeather.com and take a look at what is coming your way later this week!

The outside temperature changes tied with Sunny days will confuse most heating control systems and Humans. And, with warmer evenings, the further away from the temperature control and the North side of the home the cooler it will be.

Can you check the humidity level in your apartment? Although not that common, a runny nose can be the result low humidity level: A clear/watery discharge. Do not beat the Amazon on this, they are just to good at hiding an illness.

It's in the 20s tomorrow and partly sunny. The next day after is snowing haha and then cold the next few days but sunny.

I will buy a humidifier, I bought an air purifier because below us, they smoke and before I bought one you can sometimes smell it in my room, not their room. But just in case.

He is very bubbly and active still and flying to me. I will bring him to the vet tomorrow or when their is a good vet ready. Bangor doesn't have a lot and I didn't like Brewer's. I am going to River Road next

There is something you can do now. Feed them food with natural beta carotene like red peppers and carrots. If they are picky, get carrot juice, bolthouse farms makes a good 100% juice and can be found at almost any grocery. Natural sources of beta carotene, unlike a vitamin supplement, you can't overdose your bird as the body will only absorb what it needs. Hope your birdies are feeling better soon!
