Another big day for Salty

So yesterday was another big day for Salty. He spent some time helping me fix my car, supervising from his pack o bird.
He also helped clean his cage up, sitting on my shoulder the whole time. Then we put up a connecting chain from his cage to the main chain that serves as his highway around the house, and put a new toy by his boing, which he immediately started to attack. That's a good thing, in amazon speak, it means ' I like this'. Then he went for his first ride in my convertable, with the top down, also in his pack of bird.
I think he liked it, it's as close to flying as he has come.
Then we spent time with him sitting on the back of the couch, which is right in front of the picture window. He likes to run over, peek a look at the big world out there, then run back to behind the curtains, and digest what he saw.
It may not sound like much to us humans, but it was a big day for this little amazon in the big world .

Re: Another big day for Salty

That's great fun! And, the indoor trip in front of the Big Window on the World!

Our DYH Amazon, Julio, loves riding in the SUV far more than the car. He loves the view! His first ride with the sun roof shield pulled back was all BIG EYES and that wooooo look that Amazons get when something is just so Cool! He has taken on the job of watching for any 'big birds' and warning us if he sees one!

Thanks as always, for the Salty Updates!

Wow Salty you sure had both a busy day and a Great day I bet the ride in the convertable with the top down was the best part of all...well maybe that or the new toy...what a great reward after doing all that hard work on the car and then cleaning up the cage that new toy and highway chain was well earned...Well Done Salty

Isn't it cool Al,just doing "stuff" with our fids? If Salty is anything like Amy,I know your boy had a ball. And in a convertible on top of it all

I'm still trying to figure how I can get Amy to ride my Harley

It's so lovely to see people spend so much time with their parrots! I'm sure he loved every moment beside you, no matter what length his day was!
