And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...with my little green girl..

1st stop,of course, was the local AllPets..there we saw about 8 baby 'tiels! This place hasn't had 'tiels in ages. There were different mutations, but I only know BB's lol..but their prices were rather high to me..$229 compared to the $150 for the beebs..
Then we looked at toys...she got a chewy thingie and BB got one also..couldn't believe the prices on some of the bigger "chew and destroy" things...one was $50! Looked to be about 5 bux worth of rope and wood lol.
Then she got honey sticks and BB gets millet and smaller honey sticks..a bag of "seed" for both...$55 later we are walking out the door

She saw a grey 'tiel and yells out "Hiiiii BB" I had to laugh at that lol. And her favorite Green Armed Bee Bee's were there, running up to the glass panel giving her kissys.

We stopped at the coffee shop,me an iced coffee and for her a plain munchkin,THEN we stopped at the local Chinese cafe',where I ordered "us" Moo Goo Gia Pan...chicken with rice, carrots,'shrooms and water cress.

We were outside waiting on our lunch, and she was just chatting away to anyone who would stop to say hi. I really am amazed at her disposition. She just loves being out with Dad,and is the perfect little angel.

Here is a couple pics of our day...

DYH Amazon
Hey Jim,

..... Next time you are considering a wing trim ask them about a 'Show Clip' sometimes call a 'Presentation Clip.' Its a reverse of a traditional wing clip in that the outer most primary feathers are left and the inter primary feathers are cut. If they do not or have not done a 'Show Clip,' no reason to push them into it. Requires a greater understanding on getting the number of feathers correct and their lengths. But it really highlights an Amazon's Flash Wing Feathers (the big extensively colored; primary leading edge feathers)!

Our Red Tail Hawk population has been growing and this year is a bumper crop. The crash and rolls in our back yard has been near daily as they have passed their basic flying and are now learning the high-speed stuff. Fun too watch, but really screws with our DYH Amazon's head. They are just a bit bigger then he is and growing rapidly everyday. So, there is just now way we can have our guy outside.

Thanks for the Pic! Always love them!

Steven,

Steven, Amy's doctor does do the "show clip" and that is a reason I prefer to take her there and spend the $30 for her nails and arms. But it does require an appointment and is 20-25 minute ride <which is no biggie as far as Amy is concerned :p>
The Allpets is 10 minutes down the road, and the girl who does the clipping says she has 9 years of experience and has her own flock. But ya, the show clip is a lot nicer looking on her.

Precious!
Heart-warming.
I used to take the Rickeybird all over creation back in NM... with clipped wings, no harness. I guess I dodged a lot of bullets, so to speak. I didn't know any better. Rennaisance Fairs. Friends. Just for rides. Shopping.
I have not yet been able to sell him on harnesses... maybe he's too old and set in his ways. But we make do, up here in Yankeeland.
I love this place.
