That is the coolest laundry hanger I've ever seen. Mine is coat hangers in my ceiling vents 😂

Handsome indeed. We hang laundry downstairs on racks, lest the bird adorn them with ad hoc button holes. :/

He sure does! Kiwi loves anything related to laundry- riding in the hamper, hanging it up, folding it... It's his favorite household task to observe me doing/get in the way of doing in a timely manner

Just like I keep telling prospective zon owners, they want to be included in EVERYTHING you do. Doesn't matter what or how boring/tedious it may be for you, they like feeling like they are a participating member of the flock who does what everyone else is doing.
Plus, having such a cheery little guy hanging out can't do anything but help any household chore be more fun to do! Someday, maybe I can teach him to sort socks:33: then he actually would be helping LOL.

Hahaha! Love these pics, April! I could never allow either of my ekkies to perch like that on hanging clothes! Jolly my avian hole-puncher would immediately perforate any fabric within reach, and Maya would just as swiftly engage in fecal relations!

Lol @ your ekkies reactions to clothes! About the worst Kiwi gets up to is flinging socks when I'm folding/putting stuff away. Mostly, he just chills though. My mom uses the dryer for everything and when Lucy the DYH sees the laundry basket go by, she'll follow so she can snuggle up in the warm clothes:21:
I thought him up on his boing, checking me out, was pretty funny too. I didn't even realize until Joe told me to look over and I was getting stared down with intense curiosity as to what exactly I was doing. I was trying to get a screw in the wall and using some 'colorful language' since it wasn't going very smoothly, so he was really interested in the unusual racket
. He has to stick his beak in everything we do. Always needs to know what the flock is up to!
I wish somebody would invent some Amazon pills for Patagonians... the Rickeybird doesn't want to be INCLUDED; he wants to be DISRUPTIVE/INTERRUPTIVE/OBSTRUCTIVE! No laundry-assisting for him, no, no.

He loves all the toys and little "forgaing cup" (childs play teacup) up top. May be worth a try for Amy and if she doesn't like it, the little ball of energy might

Don't know much about the flock dynamics of Patagonian conures, but amazons are adhere to a strict social hierarchy. Works out well in a domestic home, so long as you make yourself known as the flock leader and continually reinforce what/where their role in the flock is. Kiwi is encouraged to be inquisitive and involved, but he is put in his place when he does something we find unacceptable. That doesn't make him immune from being naughty though! He is a shameless food thief and must never ever be left unattended around human food:16:

April...funny about the hanging upside down and swinging. When I first got Amy and I was introducing her to rides in the car, I had a car with a manual sun roof,the type with a latch/hook. The car had high back bucket seats and Amy would sit on the top of the head rest. I'd open the sun roof and latch it locked in place,she would then REACH UP with her beaky and grab the latch and pull herself up,then hang upside down on the latch and swing herself wildly back and forth,all the while SCREAMING out Amazon speak
There was more than one occasion I'd be stopped at a stop light and hear SCREEEEEECCCHHHH of the car behind me,almost plowing into the back of the car
One young girl got out of her car after almost whacking me and started to LHAO whenshe saw Amy up there doing her thing lol. " OMG!! ITS A BIRD!!!" I ended up selling the car not too much later.Jim
Well, they are social... nesting in huge flocks in burrows they dig in limestone cliffs; some nests entrances are as close as a few feet. BUTTT... each pair is pretty much an independent unit, with the "rooster" expecting to defend the nest (year 'round). He's fully-flighted, fast as a jackrabbit on land or air, and fearless, so over the years, I admit I've pretty much given in. I know, it's not a solution for everybody!
