Does your female parrot always try to mate with you?

My female blue front keeps trying to mate. She will do this on my shoulder or even on her cage. Luckily she stops after a couple of minutes.

It is annoying and she has been doing this for years now. I am wondering if your female parrot does the same thing?

I think every time you "move" her, you are encouraging her by using your full hand on her back and wings. I would just step her up and put her somewhere other than on the table thus avoiding touching her back, wings and the situation.

I have a male that's in full on hormonal mode. And yes any touching on the back, shoulders, wings, tail, etc will encourage the mating. I just dump mine on the ground and walk away or move him to a stand. Lights off earlier and keeping him away from certain foods and dark holes. I found him under the tv the other night in the cabinet all the way in the back ripping up a cardboard box for a nest...and he was not happy to be dragged out and put to bed.

I can see a Male doing this, but a female? I know my bird is a female because she laid an egg once.

I don't ever touch her back like that, only showing how persistent she is in the video.

She will normally start doing that when just on top of my cage or on my shoulder. She will do it for about 2 minutes and then stop if I do nothing, she usually will not start again for some hours.

All birds can be hormonal and want to mate. Males won't do what she's doing exactly. She's presenting so a male will jump on her back and mate with her.

Don't share any food with her either especially any warm mushy type foods.
