In my early days of the forums i kept running across the phrase owned by an Amazon or owned by a macaw. I always thought that this was one big joke between all of you who have decades of experience with parrots. But in the last few week I really understand that you are owned by an Amazon I spend all my disposable income buying toys and perches and such and spend all my free time with my birds and i wouldn't want it any other way but they really can be demanding little terrors I can't do anything without a bird on me I can't eat without a sacrifice to the baron I can't watch Netflix without bonkers pestering me for a piece of popcorn and head scratches. I just wanted to let you guys know that i finally understood the phrase.

LOL...there is a great "wise man" on this forum  who always says "owned by an Amazon" or "Amazons have more fun". When I first joined this family, I thought this guy was kinda "off the wall"..but after being here for going on two years..that may have been a harsh and unfounded statement by me!
WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! :p

It is 100% true..as 'zon people,we ARE owned..and if we do everything correctly...Amazons DO have more fun! ( and so do we! with them!!)

Pffffffffff! AMAZON PEOPLE :p! Once you go cockatoo, there's no going... Not cockatoo?..... (I think the actual saying is once you go cockatoo, you go deaf)

Haha, it really is true though. We break our backs, so that they can have more fun breaking our backs! LOL. It is a great life though. For all the sacrifices it entails, i wouldn't give it up for the world. And couldn't imagine being without them.

Well.... that didn't take long:p

I do not like referring to myself as a "parrot owner". A parrot carer, perhaps, but we all know who owns who around here:eek: Non-bird people just don't "get" it either. They do not grasp the concept of how such a relatively small creature can quickly have a human wrapped around it's little talon. They fail to recognize how we bird people are controlled by the beak and subject to fulfilling their every demand less we get bit by our avian overlords:rolleyes: And though I am obliged to carry out the demands of a stocky green dinosaur, I too wouldn't have it any other way.

ROFL! That's right up there with "Aw, let Bella eat the nummy weevils." You should make a signature out of that line.
