Elmo is settling in nicely and taking treats off me. Hes started doing this thing where he opens the top of his wings like a heart shape and bobs his head and sometimes quivers his wings. Is this attention seeking, as its usually if he can see me but im not next to him. I took a photo but try as i might i cant seem to add it thankyou

Yes, the general combination of body, head and wing positioning /movement is a request to come pick me up.

Please note that if the neck and body features are also puffed-up and the body is set taller, that is a I'm a Big Bad Amazon 'Display' and I'm protecting this cage, stand, or whatever I am on or near. This is commonly combined with 'pinning eyes!' A wise person would step back and let him cool down. The display is likely a few years into the future.

You are getting a series of sounds that suggest that he is opening up and settling in nicely. Everything appears to be going in the right direction.

Remember that Amazons love to be read to and be part of the family. Even a new Amazon has a natural want to be part of the group. Time is on you're side, enjoy!
