Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
...with Amy... As I have mentioned a few times, she is just obsessed with the little grey boy. I let them both out this morning, grabbed their bowls, and went to the kitchen, grabbed the trash pail and some news papers and back into the living room I go..to find Amy INSIDE BB's house!
Now I was gone only 3 or 4 minutes and she was already inside. He was in his house also, but was hiding inside his "tidy bowl" seed/nummy bowl.

She isn't aggressive towards him or anything, just wants to be with him.
Now, I think he is getting a little nervous about her. When he first came home with me,he would hang with her,( maybe coz he was 'young and dumb'?) but now he's a bit leary.

Now,they were both in the 'puter room with me,Amy on the chair next to me and Beebs making a mess out of my desk. I took him into the kitchen to get his bath ready (which he didn't groove on) and he flew to the floor and ran away, down the hall. I find him back in the 'puter room, and Amy is off the chair, just hanging with him. On any given day,I have to remove her 8 or 10 times from his roof top..and it only takes minutes for her to go back to his house. I can put her on her play top, turn around and start to walk out the room, turn back around,to find her already climbing down her house to get back to him.

Now I spend equal time with her,and one-on-one,with BB still in his house,so I don't think she is jealous, and she isn't mean to him when they are together..she just WONT leave the poor boy alone

Just be extra careful please, don't want any mishaps to either Beebs or Amy and you are the responsible one. Who knows what is going on in Amy's head, it only takes a minute for things to change. :)

It's a tight fit for the 'lil porker' Al lol..but his front door is wide enough for her to enter..and most times she just sits on the floor. I have caught her once,or twice,on a lower perch, mutilating one of HIS toys..I just cant figure her out

Amy probably just sees another one of "his own" and wants to be friends/have a mate, but like said be super careful because one little scrapple could injure BB pretty bad! As for what you can do? Well im sure you know by now theres not much that can stop a curious/determined parrot, besides preventing the situation from happening in the first place. If they are out together with you, keep an eye, but obviously never alone and out.. maybe you can put their cages close to eachother so they can kinda be near eachother safely, not too close where toes can be bitten though. If BB is scared though, I would try to have seperate play times, maybe rotate them or have them far enough apart that BB isnt scared. Seeing as BB seems to have some attraction to Amy too though, I would give them some safe interaction from a distance, like in different cages, or if out, under your close supervision, and have gloves or something nearby in case of a scrappke so you dont get nailed if you get in between it. I would avoid even that though unless they have proven themselves that they wont be aggressive after seeing their behavior through the cages for a while.

For the most of us, we are finding your pain humorous! But horrible accidents do happen! I am sure you saw this tragedy when it happened! And I must say, even on the part of Kayleigh, it was a horrific accident!

Baby still dies!

FYI, I see your fear/concern over the risks! This is more for the 'oh so cute' crowd.

Amy is NOT aggressive towards BB though..The day he came home with me,as I was setting up his house, amy was in her house, hanging upside down,on her door, looking at what I was doing. As I opened his little "take-me-home box,and scooped him out,as he was sitting on my finger, she said (no lie here) "What is THAT??"

I slowly introduced them to each other, and only a few days later, she was on his roof top, preening his little hat. She LIKES other birds..really.. She and Jonesy got along great..sitting next to each other, swapping spittal .

When Smokey was alive...Amy wanted to be best buds with her too,but Smokes wanted NO PART of that. I am confident that she holds no malice towards BB.

Their houses are in the same room, just on opposite sides,in clear view of each other..She is a stubborn old lady Amazon, and doesn't know the meaning of NO!
