...and I Really think she is enjoying and anticipating her flap flap flap lessons.

I usually carry her around the house on her perch stick. Last night her and BB's "Uncle Joe" came by to play cards, and the kids always join us.

As I was bringing Amy into the kitchen on her perch stick, without asking, she opened her arms wide, stretched the out and gingerly did a couple flapflapflap's,without me doing the drop thing.

I think it was a hint from her "Ok Dad,I'm ready..lets flap!"
We did a five minute session. I think now the next lesson will be us walking thru the house while she flaps, then take her to the bedroom and try to get her to jump/flap onto the bed.

That's awesome. Maybe you'd consider taking videos of what it's like to fledge an older bird?

Yes I am going to try to video her..something went ka-blooie with my camera app for my computer...some reason the computer won't/doesn't recognize the camera no more.

Yes buddy...that will happen too. I have a harness that I got from Tom (willow's dad) a while back, for Jonesy but it was too big. Tom said it was a little tight on Willow ( I THINK Willow is larger than a BF)

The harness has been hanging on Amy's outside ropey perch for sometime now. She has picked it up and played with it so I'm thinking she is now accustomed to seeing it.
I will try in the near future to try and play/slip it over her head and see how she reacts. Amy does allow me to open up her arms fully without too much fussing.

Remember to bring Amy in for a landing as you make contact with the bed, have her step-off. Practice this a few times so Amy has some idea of what is expected!

Very happy that this is going so very well!

Thank you my friend for that suggestion, I didn't think of that.

Amy's getting ready to fly!!!!!

Nothing will stop her getting on BB's cage then, short of long range missile defenses!

Nice to see such progress! Maybe Amy will be so happy to fly she'll forget about BB's cage?

Alrighty then..now that Amy is doing pretty good in the flapping department...I took her into the bedroom to see if she'd jump off and flap to the bed. Of course she wont lol..holds on tight to her perch..
Whats next? I don't just want to let go of the perch lol sure she'd just flop on the soft bed...but that's kind of a rude awakening to me,and I don't want to loose her trust in me when we do or flapping sessions..so where do I go from here??
