Looks like she is more interested in play time than stepping up.

Any time my Bingo rolls onto his back is his signal for play time.
Unfortunately he has been doing that very close to my face.
Everyone knows how quickly "play" can turn into ... not aggression but overstimulated hard biting.

I have just the right number of holes in my face. I don't need any more !!

Oh yes. 100% “I’m not in the mood” behavior. Best to leave her be in cases like this. Chasing her around with the stick, FYI, is directly how she can begin a negative association with the stick and refuse to step up in the future.

definitely more interested in play time haha

you get a treat you can hold out that Amy finds irresistible? I'd go to using that to make her step up to reach the treat. Can never force them to step up but we can trick them into wanting to step up for a tasty morsel

M'Lord..Amy really doesn't have a "definite"treat...unless you wanna count in chicken leg bones  Ya...can you see me walking around the house with a sammich bag of bones? lmao.
well on occasion,he does get a hankering for nutraberries..I'll give them a go next time around ;)
I kind of concur with Wes..it's playtime for him..it is kind of cute/funny.

Chris..Amy's perch stick is a big part of our relationship. That stick is as old as Amy is lol. The very first time we went outside,I found it on the ground under a tree that has long been cut down! And when we go out any place in the car,the stick is always with us. That stick has been thru heck lol..at one time it did have bark on it :p Even just going from the living room to the kitchen and vice-verse he rides the stick, especially if Beebers is riding along on my shoulder,so I doubt Amy would ever have/get a "negative" reaction to it.

My friend you know Amy better than I. But if a bond with humans can be so easily damaged with something like a beak thump, an inanimate object harrassing them is not above reproach.
