I am SO used to that look!! (usually accompanied by hissing, wing flaring, rapid eye pinning, etc.) My YNA is NOT shy about acting out his threats, either!! I have the scars to prove it...
When Kiwi looks like that, I like to go over with my hands behind my back and sneak a kiss on his soft little head. What can I say? I like to live dangerously

We have the next size-up, which has the double perch with one being a lower perch. The design is to allow when sitting on a table for the Parrot to just long step-up.
Julio (HRH) uses the low perch to eat from the food bowl without having to buttfeather everyone. And, of course, he never steps-on, he climbs the side of the metal bar to get either perch. No need to do it the easy way when you're a big strong Amazon.
As Kiwi's mom stated, it is important to not "misjudged his scowl of contentment with his scowl of simmering rage". It's why I Love Amazons, there is never a dull moment!
