Maverick - BFA (hatchdate: 05/04/2016)
With us moving to New York, my parents were tasked with parrot-sitting. It's been an entire two weeks and it feels like an eternity. We spent this week with my mother-in-law and it has taken everything in me to behave and not drive the hour-and-a-half to get my green chicken back! In about 30 minutes I'll be Maverick-bound!!

My parents had a BFA (Cookie) once upon a time who unfortunately passed away at 10 years young due to liver cancer. But they are well-versed in Amazon body language! My dad was the subject of Cookie's jealousy, so he enjoys the fact that Maverick will happily take treats from him. Cookie bonded to my mom and she so desperately wants Maverick to fall in love with her! To be fair, he graciously accepts food from her and only misbehaves when she tries to move his toys around and switch them out.

I got this as a text message update this morning:

I know he is still the loud nippy moody jerk he can be at times, but OMG I can't wait to have him back with us! Something to look forward to as I battle rush-hour traffic!

Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
They have that effect on people!

Sun Conure - Ollie- Hatched 08/18/16*

Nanday Conure -Finley- Hatched 10/07/17*

Turquoise Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure -Paris- Hatched 03/03/18*

Black Capped Conure -North- Hatched 10/10/18
Reunited and it feels sooo good...

I hope he welcomes you with open wings! I have a 2 week trip in August in which I'll be taking Ollie (sun conure) but leaving Finley (younger nanday conure) and I'm terrified of the results of this decision. Finley is just too unpredictable to take on a plane (like 6 planes) at this time and would definitely provoke hysteria on flights with the 2 of them feeding off each other. I hope Fin doesn't get an attitude when I get home!

He was very happy to see us. As soon as he heard our voices he was calling our names and gave 1,000,000 kisses! I gave him a quickie shower, this presenting extremely-happy-wet-chicken:

Surprisingly we managed to avoid any over-stimulated nips, and he even snuggled up with my wife who he usually only uses for treats and dancing :)
