Who has the oldest bird?

I have had my YNA since 1986. I was told he was 1 year old when I got him. I think he may have been slightly older, maybe 3 because he went through puberty shortly after we got him.

Gonzo is my first bird, purchased in 1985, and I'm guessing he was born in the early 1980s.
The Rb was hatched in 1984... I've had him since he was about three months old. He'll be 34 next month.

- Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
Is this only for Amazons? In India the oldest parakeet that I personally know was a Rose-ringed parakeet at my friend's house that lived up to 23.
But I have read, heard and seen youtube videos of Psittacula parakeets that are 25+ or even 30+

The Rb is a Patagonian Conure, and as I said, will be 34 in a few days.

My mom got her wild caught DYH in the mid 1970's and she was already a sexually mature adult (actual age unknown due to having been caught in the wild), so she is 45+ years old, most likely in her later 40's or early 50's. My mom actually 'rescued' her from being used as a breeder, which is what the "bird farm" she got her from had originally bought and intended to use her for. She has a bit of arthritis in the foot she broke years ago, but is in otherwise excellent health. Still flies every day all over the house and to my knowledge has never been sick a day in her life (besides an infection she developed directly related to the broken foot). Amazons, when fed right and encouraged to exercise and be active can live a VERY long time. I've heard of individuals living well into their 80's/90's and a few who have apparently made it to 100! (though I'm unsure just how true those cases are) Many of the old wild caughts are especially tough birds, as they had to be to survive capture, the importation process and USDA quarantine. Only the strongest individuals could survive that.

Man, you'd think by that age they'd have lost interest lol. At the rate your pair is going, they'll be like this mother albatross, still rearing chicks in her late 60's!

Oliver came in thru the Port of San Diego in 1981 according to his leg Band. We dont know when he was born. oh wait! he is only still alive in my mind. Sorry.

Yes! Ricky Bird's story is amazing. 34 years is a great journey. I am sure you have a lot of great stories to tell and possibly already have in this forum.
And as your signature says, they are also spectacular in the wild,mass nesting on those sea shore cliffs.

Cardinal... thanks! Yeah, I have a physical scrapbook from 1984 and now a virtual one here for a couple of years. I love our community! I used to have to force Rb stories on friends and relatives, and now I have a community that voluntarily listens!

Berta, my Orange Winged Amazon. I bought her in 1976 and don't know how old she was then. She passed in November of 2015 so she was 39 years old plus. Left a big hole in my heart and I immediately started searching to rescue another.
Nike is now, I'm guessing, somewhere in her 20's.
