Dandruff??

Jackie has dandruff or is he molting?? I am sure with the move he was gonna have issues not sure what to do or to do nothing how high should the humidity be in the house and what should the temp be in the house?

The good news is he let me snuggle him he turned his head into my neck and I started rubbing his head and he was like purring I wonder if he is in mourning still I started crying and told Jackie I miss them too... I just hope he is happy in my house I dont have a clue on what I am doing

I cant help you with humidity and temperature.. But when Ozzy is molting it looks like he has dandruff when he picks the coating off his pin feathers. It goes away when he is done molting.

This sounds like remnants of pin feathers which crumble to let the new feather through. Completely normal during a moult as Ozzy says

temperature and humidty should be "comfortable" parrots don't reall need tropical heat, 65-70 degrees is fine, but you might want it warmer on bath day) However, according to my vet, a little higher humidity doesn't hurt. I have an adjusable humidifier and keep it set at about 70%.

it could be either molting or dry skin. Has Jacky had a bath recently?

Parrots for Dummies is a great book I am reading daily. Jackie has not had a bath on my trems but he did do this thing with his drinking water like hanging upside down and sticking his entire head in the dish it was crazy and a big mess but I let him do his thing and when he was done I cleaned up the mess. So how do you give a parrot a bath?? I gave him a dish of water I put it in teh bottom of his cage would not have anything to do with it..
I am in Michigan and its in the 20"s out so keeping the house more that about 72 will cost a bunch of money I do have a humidifer going all the time I hope this helps him

I have a perch in the shower, and I place Fred on it...then I spray him with a pressurized water bottle. He gets really wet..then I partially dry him with a hair dryer. He always has a good preen afterwards. I'm hoping that when he gets really comfortable with it, I'll eventually be able to turn the water on.

if he likes bathing in his water bowl he'll likely go for a bowl of water if it's in the right place. Amazons are more likely than some birds to go on the floor of their cage, but if he has a flat-top cage, setting a glass pieplate or other heavy, shallow bowl on top of the cage with luke-wam water in it and letting him try bathing there may be more successful.
