Bonnie and Clyde, Umbrella 'Toos, and BoozieToo, a double yellow Amazon. RIP Boozie, Blue crowned mealy Amazon
Make no mistake: I love our U2s. They are funny and playful and full of life. But I miss my Zon. Every. Single. Day.

I went down to the bird rescue/store and Lesa fell in love with a more or less featherless HUGE mealy. Made Boozie look small, even missing most of her feathers. I loved her too, but she has health problems and the idea of going through another loss scares the crap our of me.

I just wanted to sniff the Amazons.

Boozie died very suddenly. He was on his perch on a Sunday, 4 weeks ago, chirping away and happy. I was making the birds breakfast when my wife told me to check on Boozie because he was making a weird noise. He was choking. I ran over and he had fallen off his perch and was gripping the edge of the top of his cage. I didn't realize the severity of the problem, so I was trying to loosen his grip without hurting him. By the time I got him loose and down, he went limp. Lesa, ever the nurse, tried to resuscitate him, but he was gone. And it was devastating.

I am so sorry for your loss.
I know what it's like to loose an Amazon.
At least it was quick, to see one suffering for multiple days and not be able to help.....

I hope you are eventually able to fill the void with another Amazon family member.
