Trying to get photos that accurately convey what the feet of a neon Bigfoot look like is about as hard to get as a photo of an actual Bigfoot. But anyways, here you go- xanthopteryx gigantofooticus:D (shown with a quarter for size):

attachment.php

Just look at those things! You can see they're disproportionately large to his legs/body size. Even the vet remarked on his feet size. Oh ya, I leave Kiwi's talons nice and long to help him climb better since he's not a flier. A lot of people seem to like to cut their parrots talons WAY short, making it hard for them to climb. Those talons are meant to be like that of velociraptor!

I think just like how some people have a size 14 foot some birds just have huge massive feet for whatever reason. And if you haver a fellow Bigfoot, please do post pics (open to all abnormally big footed parrot owners:D).

Millie said woot woo, such gorgeous big feet you have Kiwi.

Millie her self has big feet. She only weighs about 400g but her feet are huge too.

I always thought Bundii had big feet until Millie came along. Lol.

All are rescues- had to leave their previous homes for 'reasons', are still in contact with them :)
Those are lovely feet!

One of our duch biologists-turned-writer once wrote "Birds have developed this nice bright and (often) colourfull plumeage just to distract any attention away from their rather reptillian undercariage"
(sorry, rough translation from the top of my head)

Yup, those are the feet of the great Southern Blue Front. Family members of Yellow-Winged Amazon Species. "These boots (feet) are made for walking (climbing)."

"Xanthopteryx gigantofooticus", still giggling at the classification. I think by comparison Bingo's feet may be average size for a Zon, I'll try to get a close up. My CAG has huge feet. I agree with leaving the talons long for climbing, foraging, etc.....

Jim and Scott- since you both have blue fronts, does Amy or Gonzo have extra large feet or more normal feet for zons?

My moms DYH is a good 100 grams heavier than Kiwi as she has much smaller feet. Watching the 2 of them walk on the floor, you can see he struggles with them when flat vs climbing on a branch.

I think Amy and Kiwi could be brothers.

My Sam has really big feet also. When he was a baby, his feet looked like they were glued on from another bird. They just didn't fit his body. Now, at almost 36, they kind of fit, but are still on the big side. He is a big bird, but his feet always kept up with him! He is a Blue Front.

Wings up for big footed blue fronts! If everyone else are like Kiwi, they are extremely prideful about their big dinosaur feet. Makes him feel like a real velociraptor and/or tiny tyranosaur:p

So Kevin’s feet are so big when he puts one foot up, it can’t be hidden in his feathers.

I, too, allow his claws to be a bit longer for climbing as Kevin’s flying was somehow impaired before he came to me. He can flutter from place to place but flying not so much.
