Sam had his bath this morning. As he was sitting on his shower perch getting misted with his birdie bottle and throwing his head around like Linda Blair, he looked up at us and said, " It's so good". We were hysterical laughing! :green:

I would have been hysterical, too!

Mr. Sunshine loves his baths. I know he hasn't had one for at least the last five years from his previous owner. She would put a pan in the bottom of his cage but he would only play in his water dish occasionally. However it was so small.

This was his 3rd from a spray mister. I need a more heavy duty mister as my finger wore out before he did.

I couldn't wait for my first chance to mist him. He loves it! He is just getting comfortable, so baths happen in his cage for now.

This was taken when I stopped. He was still begging for more!

Yellow Shoulder Amazon, Salty
Yeah once you hit on how your 'zon likes his bath or shower, they go NUtS. Salty hates a human shower, but give him a spray bottle and he goes crazy, and finishes up in his water dish, no mattr how wet we get him... has to put the finishing touches in his 3 inch water bowl. Go figure. Just make sure there are no cold drafts when he's wet - perfect time to catch a chill. If he will accept it, you can pat him down with a fluffy towel to get a lot of the excess water off. Pat dry only,no rubbing, like with human hair- that would damage feathers.

I usually wrap him in a towel and hold him while he bites the towel. Then I blow dry him on low heat. He loves that. Bites the air, sings, walks in circles to get all the areas. What a ham.

Sam knows how to enjoy a bath! Clever boy!

My grey and my Amazon have cages across from each other, the grey loves mist baths and makes a big dramatic production of it. If I point the spray bottle toward the Amazon heā€™s mortified that I would even suggest such a thing. The Amazon bathes in his three inch deep water dish but only when he decides its necessary and that isnā€™t often. Occasionally I hear the grey saying ā€˜dirty birdā€™ repeatedly and then Iā€™ll find the Amazonā€™s water bowl empty and a dripping wet Amazon. Once the Amazon bathes the grey stops calling him a ā€˜dirty birdā€™ until next time.
