Haven't been on here in the longest time... Just a quick update on my flock.

Sally has adjusted quite well to losing her toes. She doesn't appear to have any real residual problems other than just difficulty hanging on with that foot. She is still very much my shoulder bird, and my morning coffee bird, though at the moment she is pre-occupied playing inside a new cardboard box with goodies in it on her playtop. She still court's my coffee pot in the mornings... and still preens my eyebrows and eyelashes when I come home at night...

Kiwi is about the happiest bird you ever met! Loves everyone and plays constantly. She hangs out with Tusk and Lila, and the three of them always seem to be in or around her cage or the playstand they share...

Kiwi started out an out and about bird, but has become quite the home body. She prefers her toys, and the familiar surroundings of the aviary. When we are outside it's in the tree with the other two amigos, or on me... taking turns with the macaws. (usually it's on me.)

For a bird that would not touch her veggies when I got her... she gobbles up anything and everything now. She is very fond of food...

You can honestly get that bird macaw level riled up. Flip her over wrestle with her beak, play with her face to beak, and she doesn't lose control of her bite pressure. She is still all play, all the time.. Still talking up a storm. Comes up with new sentences all the time. Don't know where half of them come from... SHE'S BEEN THIS WAY FROM DAY ONE!! I AM SO GLAD I DECIDED TO TAKE HER, AND HAPPY TO HAVE HER!!! She's been the perfect amazon. Can't imagine anyone ever wanting to get rid of this bird... Sarah and I both love her to death... (She and Ruby are Sarah's favorites.)

Lila and Tusk are still inseparable. Right now she's grooming his face. They're waddling around on the floor looking for goodies the Macaws dropped.

I think I need a play sheet. I don't know what species to connect with what name.

I know I will always miss my RLA. Mine was on the small side but the pet shop has one that is almost as big as my YNA.

I'm Kiwi's former owner and jumped onto this forum today to see if I could find out how she's doing. I was in Gatlinburg last week and thought of her when I went to Parrot Mountain. It sounds like she's doing really well and I'm so happy to hear that.

To answer why someone would ever get rid of her, I got re-married and my wife finds birds "creepy". She wouldn't go anywhere near the Parrot Mountain bird cages (very odd). It's so unfair that she made me give away Kiwi. It still upsets me.

Anyway, I'm really happy to see she's found a good home.
