!!!! I just got Amy out of his house and on his perch stick and when moving him into this room he lost his balance/grip on the perch stick and fell to the floor with a thud! When he stepped back onto the perch he was shaking his head and a couple droplets of blood came out  I think he bit his own tongue!!! He is acting ok but is "smacking his lips" a bit. I Don't see anymore blood. I'll give it thirty minutes and if I see anymore, off to Doc Kristin we'll go!!!

From what height?
I'm guessing that he never got his wings open, hence the thud?
Likely that Amy is alright, but well worth the trip to your CAV.
Likely he did cut his tongue, but blood from the head region is never to be taken lightly.
His never getting his Wings open is a question well worth asking of the Vet. It just seems odd to me.

I agree, something going on, loosing balance, not opening wings...... That's not normal he should have opened his wings while still on the perch and try and right his balance there, before beven falling.
Hope he is ok,
Might need a vet visit more for the loosing balance and falling, but blood from the mouth is scary

He wasn't even two feet from the floor, and he did open his arms ( broke his fall a bit) but couldn't fully extend them because his X-perch sits atop two pet carriers and was too close. I've been keeping a VERY close watch on him. I see no more droplets. It stopped bleeding within five minuets or so. (there is four very small ones on the perch where he dragged his beak across.) Acting fine, making Amazon sounds and took a nibble from a green bean. He has been preening and I don't see any "red" where it shouldn't be.
I think it freaked me out more than it did Amy  I'm still keeping an eye on him.
Oh great! He just gave a BIG yawn and I got a real good look into his mouth and everything looks fine!

Jim, I know it's playoff time but stop playing ball with him!

Glad he's OK, that thud is a terrible sound.

Seems to be ok. Back in his house.Took a nutraberry from me and is making his usual amazon sounds. I'm still looking in on him every half hour or so. Prolly thinking why is dad making such a fuss over him  His boon looks normal so I think if he was still bleeding it would have shown up by now.
This is stressing me out now,

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
I think you used great instincts with Amy. Keep a close watch to see if she shows any instability or change from the normal. Hopefully just a one-off fright.

All is well in Amys' kingdom. :60: I'm guessing that when I brought him to his X perch,he had to stretch too far from where he was on his perch stick ( All MY fault for not having him close enough :19:) and he couldn't grasp the X perch well enough and lost his footing on his perch stick. My stomach is in knots thinking it was all because of me
By the time it was nite-nite for both of them (9:30) he was mumbling to David and came up to his house bars for a good-night skritch. The poor bird. I hope the weather is good enough tomorrow so I can bring him to see his buddies at the pet store and I'll let him pick out a toy. Dad is an idiot. :19:
