My Finley is now a year old!! He's the best decision I made! He's so amazing but a handful! LOL....he's a BF Amazon. Lately though when I try to get him from one place to another or don't want him to do something like getting into stuff he shouldn't, he will just take off and fly around the room but crash into something. He is usually clipped and I plan to get him clipped again but I wasn't sure if maybe I shouldn't get him clipped but allow him to learn to fly like he should. I don't want him to just fly off in a tantrum though and it seems that is what he's doing....lol. Are amazons known for doing this?

It takes them some time to scope out the house and learn what is/is not a safe landing zone.
In the beginning when learning to fly they don’t know how to “put on the breaks” so they end up circling and circling until they crash.

I think most of the long time Amazon owners(servant) will say your bird will live a healthier and happier life if allowed to fly.
