Yellow Lored Amazon

Guys, quick question regarding Yellow Lored Amazon. One of my co-workers is interested to buy this Yellow Lored Amazon from a breeder and he asked me how the bird is in terms of temperament, noise level, and talking ability( well, this is subjective, haha.. I explained to him some bird do never talk and some talk a storm, like my rescue CAG). So, I told him let me find out, and I will get back to you.

So, my question to you all do you guys recommend YLA to my friend. He has 4 years old in the house and got two tiles. Any advice is welcome. I will pass the knowledge to him.. actually asked him to join the forum and read the Amazon section A-Z.

NOTE: Any Amazon under the age of 5 years must have a full document set, commonly referred to as a Hatch Certificate. This document set requires the specific species of the Amazon and its parents. The Hatch Date and contact information of the Breeder and any other owners between the Breeder and your friend. A DNA Sex document is commonly also part of the document set.

It is recommended that the document set be provided to the owner's Avian Medical Professional so that it is included in the Amazon's Medical File.

The document set, follows the Parrot during its life as should its medical file.

Yellow-lored Amazons are native to the Yucatán Peninsula in southeastern Mexico, British Honduras, Belize, Roatán Bay Islands and Honduras. Within their natural range, they prefer tropical deciduous forests, tropical lowland evergreen.

The behavior of Yellow-lored Amazons are much the same as Red-lored Amazons. But, as is true with all Amazons, they are individuals and the care they receive can effect their nature.

With loving care from the Human, Yellow-lored Amazons are great Companion Parrots. Assure that your Friend understands the requirements of Parrot ownership and especially the unique requirements of an Amazon.

My Red lored Amazon had a sweet disposition most of the time
She just had a Way of biting without warning.
She never talked but could whistle something that was recognizable as pretty bird.
Shw was a wonderful companion and I still miss her.

He has a 4-year-old kid and two cockatiels? Just checking, because your post was a little unclear.

How old is the bird?

you read it right. 4 years old boy and 2 cocktails (7 & 5 years old)

YLA is around 6 months old.

What ever happened?

Did he get the bird?
