Looking for blue-crowned mealy amazon

I have been searching for years for a Blue-Crowned Mealy Amazon. NOT a Blue-Front. I was raised with one and would really like to own another. I am only interested in a Blue-Crowned Mealy. Does anyone know a reputable breeder and/or if anyone has one for sale or possibly one they are trying to find a good home for. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. :green:

I'm not familiar with blue crown mealy, i've heard of a blue crown amazon but know nothing of them unless there's a more common name, Mealys are not uncommon and they's some babies for sale in your area, Mealy Amazon (amazona farinosa) check out some pics and see if that's what your thinking of. I found out a little more ,yes there's a Blue Crown Mealy Amazon, there's several sub-species(maybe 5)of the mealy amazon,Amazona farinosa, the common mealy is Amazona farinosa farinosa, the Blue Crown is Amazona Farinosa guatemalee, which is found SE Mexico to Hondurus and is also known as the Guatemalan Amazon, I don't know if you can find some one who has a pure strain of that bird. but i doubt it, i know someone who would know and will contact them if you really, really want to know if they're any around. Most are only Mealy Amazons and the difference in the subs is so subtle most can't tell.Good Luck and feel free to contact me if you want more.

I too am looking for a blue crowned. My 35 year old was killed last year in by a dog that my wife had taken in to help a dying neighbor. It was a terrible accident. Green Turkey was the best friend a man could have. He loved children and I often took him out to visit schools and well just everywhere. THis breed is absolutely wonderful to have around. I miss him so much and so does my wife. We also have a Jenday Conure and a Goffin Cockatoo and love them, but they are my wife's birds. I am ready for another Blue Crowned. Please let me know of a breeding pair.

All of the mealies I ever played with were really gentle birds. They're one of the most docile zons out there.
