From the very first moment our bird saw us, he picked my husband as his new 'mate.' My husband had never had a bird and was very green with birds, but he made attempts to get to know Quack despite his nervousness with them. I am the one home with Quack all day and usually cook for him and talk to him or hold him etc. He still was most excited to see my husband home from work and would display and talk and make little excited squeaks! Well, today we were watching a movie and Quack was on my husband because I asked my husband to hold him because Quack loves him so much and doesn't get to see him very often. About 15 minutes into the movie, Quack hopped off and walked up to me and climbed up my sweatshirt to sit on MY shoulder! I couldn't believe he decided to walk away from my husband lol! Later on I passed him back so I could move around a bit, and Quack walked back on his own very quickly again. Do you think he could be reselecting who he wants to buddy up with? He also talked a little on my shoulder, and the rule generally is that he only talks for my husband.

The good socialization is something we can confirm his last owner did via taking him everywhere. It's why I get weary of getting another bird! He is so good, but all the work involved in rearing such a well adjusted bappy sounds grueling lol!
