I am concerned that Liberty is plucking. I haven't seen her pulling out feathers but I am concerned because of the odd line across her chest. I find lots of little downey like feathers around her cage when I am sweeping but i don't see any pin feathers on her. Is Faith breaking the pin feathers for her or is to young to molt? She is just a few days over 6 months old. If she is plucking I really want to try to figure out why before it becomes out of control. :(

Can you take a photo? It is easier to tell with a photo.

I hope that these photos show what I am concerned about. Liberty was very interested in my camera and didn't want to stand still for the pic. Maybe I am just being paranoid... :( Do you see the line of messed up feathers about mid-way down her chest?

I would say probably molting, but keep an eye on her.

I agree looks and sounds like molting.
Birds that pluck have a lot of feathers falling from one particular part of their body, for example their chests.
You would notice a bald spot where the plucking is occurring

Thank you both for looking at this for me. I was hoping that I was over reacting but I just want to make sure that I am taking good care of my babies. Being a first time mommy to FIDS I guess that over reacting comes with the job. :)

I would keep a eye on the bird but I would have to agree it is probably molting. I can understand your worry. I too worry alot and if I seen anything new about my bird it freaks me out. I am sure Clover sometimes views me as a crazy doctor that likes to inspect. My dog does not give me as much concern (go fugure).

You are not over reacting.....just being a caring guardian.
We all go through these stages.
Great thing is everyone on the forum is able to give advice and assist.
