Josie - blue and gold macaw
So, the last couple of times that I have had Josie out, she has regurgitated for me when I would go to pick her back up to take her back to her cage. This is new for her. She has always favored me, but now, she bites whoever is trying to handle her if it is not me. I am supposed to take her into my son's class room in May and I want at least him to be able to hold her while we are there. What can I do?

Thank you.

Well, since it is breeding season, maybe forget about him holding her, rather than chance a bite.....I have a bird that's not real friendly to strangers, but if I put her on someone's finger or arm, she'll stay there & be very personable, but usually only for a few minutes.....

Not knowing the kids age range, you could explain that birds get grumpy at certain times of the year & that she chose this time to be grumpy.....

Got to think out of the box sometimes, but you can explain it away.....

Good luck.....
