Hello :)

My GCC Chloe turned 4 months old at the end of May. I've had her since the middle of April. She has gone from gentle nibbling (on my skin) to painful biting. I have been saying "No." "Ouch." and sometimes instinctively reaching up to were she's bitten and end up moving her aside. When I do that she bites me again - and harder.

She is molting right now. I'm not sure if the "Spring Fever" applies to her at such a young age - but I do keep it in mind as a possibility.

I'm really looking for some advice on how to control this. She's no very particular about where she bites - and it usually just comes out of the blue/I cannot pinpoint a reason for it.

Thank you!

The proverbial honeymoon is over.....she's figure out the lay of the land and is now pushing her boundaries and while each bird's attitudes are different, they all need some direction & boundary guidance/training.....take a look at touch training & clicker training.....there's a plethora of reading info on the net & some video clips on youtube.....

I spent a couple of long weekends in Casper back in the early 70s & (at the time) did some construction work for Rollins' largest employer in the mid 80s.....

Good luck.....

Thank you! I will look into touch training and clicker training. She can still be quite sweet but I want to curb this before it's all biting and no sweet bird :)

Curious if the training has helped any.

I'm also at this stage but instead of biting me it has started attacking my 4yr old. Have you seen improvement since you started training?

If she's bored/curious, providing toys for her to chew on instead can be a great way to distract her from biting.

If she's startled, try to figure out what has startled her.

You really need to take a close look at her behavior.
