Okay, so how many of you have birds that give themselves a new "hairstyle", or is this a prelude to plucking? Jack has maybe three feathers on his chest that stick straight out, and even when I bath him I think he pulls them up again!

Ideas? Is he giving himself a new look to impress the glamorous Paris, or is he starting to pluck?

Normal preening activity will sometu get feathers to stand up. wouldn't worry if there is no. bald spots.

I don't, but can take some if I need to...it is no bald or torn spots at all...it almost seems like he is trying to make his chest (already magnificent) look even bigger!

(Sorry it took me a bit to get back!)

Edit: should also mention he has been looking like this for several weeks now...it will seem to get better, then he pulls them up again, sigh! :banghead:

Not really stressing me much yet...but a bald spot definitely would!!! I am also being more careful than usual to leave him fun things to play with, hoping that will draw his attention enough he forgets about it. He has never been much of a preener, if I didn't bathe him regularly he would be a sight...but when Miss Paris came to town he suddenly became more interested in his appearance. ;)
