Princess parrots,
Pretty boy (Charlie),
Pretty girl and
2 pretty babies
My two princess parrots have had 2 beautiful babies who have just left the nesting box around 4-5 days ago. All had gone well up to this point when pretty G decided that she wanted to kill the boy pretty B.
I ended up taking her out into a separate cage but she has been very bad tempered screaming at him across the room. I've tried her back a few times with no success until today.
I felt so sorry for her as she was holding her little foot out every time I went near her asking me to take her back in there. I gave it another go but now the behaviour has turned to mating antics, dancing, clucking, crests up bobbing up and down.
The nesting box is still in the cage, should I remove it and will this take away some of this behaviour? I think her aggression is her trying to make up her mind if she wants another brood. He's an easy going kind of guy, not pushing her into anything but in it for sure if she gives him the sign!
I thought the babies might still like to have the nesting box there for security but they aren't going in there.
thank you!
