Congo African Grey: Russell Peters (R.I.P. my baby)
Hi there,

I'm hoping I can get some help on this, recently Russell has been displaying some PDA's towards yours truely;), and I don't mean personal digital assistant! Does anyone know how I can dissuade this behaviour. He has totally lost all interest in the other family members and will only pay attention to myself. Yesterday when he was on my arm his was feathers were shivering so much I thought they would fall off and he was rubbing his bottom into my arm and making sounds that embarassed my Daughter:eek:. It's very obvious to me that these are feelings he should be having for his mate and he has chosen me as that but I feel like a "tease". When this happens and it happens alot I put him down and leave him alone until this behaviour subsides but I feel bad. Will this pass? Does anyone know what makes them chose who they chose as a mate in the human flock? Anyone, anyone?

Thanks....... April

You can tell Spring is near. This behavior is considered normal by the parrot. He loves you. I think you are doing the right thing by a time out. If you are touching him just touch the head and no where else. You may have to resort to more in cage time until the season is over. See below for some "randy" information.
