RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
My 19 yr old male hand-raised Goffin has a peculiar eating behavior. When eating a cooked whole-wheat "spiral noodle" he nearly always grasps it with an endamame pod or lima bean from his dish - two foods he is offered but will not eat. The cycle begins with eating a mouthful of the noodle, then tapping the pod or bean once with his beak, another bite of the noodle, and so on, without variance. Sometimes when the noodle is almost finished the pod or bean is discarded. Other times he'll "steal" a noodle from another area and eat it without a "companion" food, but alternately beak-tap one of his claws!

I know this is a harmless as behaviors go, and just one of his endearing mannerisms, but none of my other Goffins do this!
