Yesterday Hiroshi was very very hyper and loud and running around like a maniac but today he is very very relaxed. just preening and napping. His poo is normal and there is no discharge from eyes or beak or anywhere, he still has interest in his toys and when I first took him to the vet the vet said he is healthy.

It is still concerning me however because he was so crazy excited and hyper at first and today hes sleeping a lot. Do parrots have tired days? I don't want to sound like an idiot I just mean do they have days where they sleep a lot and are lazy? Its very grey and rainy here, maybe its the weather??:confused::confused:

See siggie :)
My budgies are very active in the morning and late afternoon. During the afternoon they sit around, preen, nap and eat. Since their poos are always the same colour green ( From loads of veggies ) I changed their diet slowly over a few days to just seed so I could monitor their droppings to make sure they were OK. Of course, now I feel horrible and they have been spoilt by lots f their favourite foods.

My guys have days where they are GO! GO! GO! & others where they have lots of nanna naps, esp when the weather is bleak. I'd be concern if the down periods were more than a couple of days or there were any signs of illness, which in your case doesn't sound like it.
.... and BTW don't ever feel like an idiot asking questions, you'd be an idiot if you didn't ask

Just a quick question and I know it is debated on this forum. If you ask you vet I bet they would tell you to get full spectrum lighting. It is especially helpful on those dark gray days. I can see Rosie relax and enjoy her time in the light.

My keet has those days sometimes, those are her break days. Through watching her, it means she wants a day off from playing around and just chill.

Oh yea...Birds are just like people, they have good days, bad days, grumpy days, happy days, hyper days and slow days. Like Mel said, you really only need to be concerned if the behaviour changes and doesn't go back. And as long as pooping, eating and drinking is all good, then no worries I say;)
