Hi all ive noticed a new negitive behavior, when i had my too a foot toy she grabs it very aggressively like she wants to kill it ?

She is gentle with my hands and has never bitten me she will lick food off my fingers very gentley without biteing.

She dosent appear to be scared of them as she will walk over and pick them up and destroy them, but when i hand her them same toy she will lunge at it and grab it off me ....?

I have tried pulling back and only letting her have the toy when she is a bit calmer ... not sure if this is the correct approach?

Look forward to all your thoughts :)

Sorry for the spelling mistakes i didnt use auto correct :)

Cheers Charlie

Ha ha ha...It's a playful thing with toys. Get's them worked up. Don't be concerned. My Grey plays on the couch and I'll roll a ping pong ball around. he'll smack it around like he wants to kill it, rolls over on his back with ball in his feet. Hilarious at times.
Tonite my Zons and Grey were all on the couch and had a blanket on the couch, put my hand under it and said get the mouse get the mouse...You'd of thought they all turned evil and had super powers, as they all in unison danced all over the blanket pecking at my hand....it's our little game and they really enjoy it. Rolling on their backs and just having a ball playing with me. Just sometimes they get rough, no need to be concerned. If they get rough and carried away I just softly grab the beak and say gentle beak as I rub their beak...after a while ( few days) they understand they are biting too hard.
I finally have all my birds potty trained as well Yeay !!! No more poop on me or furniture. Greyson was the last to be trained... such a relief, guy could poop like a donkey !

My CAG actually hangs upside down and attacks his toys - AND MAKES THEM TALK while he's doing it! It's pretty funny...

"Owww! Knock it off! That's too hard! That hurts! Stop it!"

Worked closely with many species, birds with behavioral problems, and now birds of prey and other wildlife
There is a ruby macaw I work with who ATTACKS his toys like I have never seen! It is almost terrifying. Don't worry about it she is just playing
