My JoJo does a perfect Woodpecker imitation on his cage, and just recently, started intermittently pecking while sitting on my daughter's shoulder. Have tried doing searches, but, answers are, angry, happy, hormonal, and territorial!? Only other observation, if he does this on a counter, he also does the crouched snow plow imitation too. During this, his mood seems to be great, in fact, I get away with a bit of rough house playing with him!
FYI, am saying he, but no DNA proof either way!
Any thoughts?

Really? When banging on his cage, it is loud, and is always in the same corner/side. In fact, my guess, the spot gives the best sound. Have never seen anything upchucked!
My daughter said it really hurt for such a little guy!

Maybe I'm not picturing the same things.

Two of my three used to bang their beaks on me, when bringing food up from their crops.

Mine will go up near a wall and like knock her beak on it...and go back and forth...Knock knock knock knock....pause...knock knock....

It seems its how shes tests things, or just has fun.

I would say yours likes the noise it makes! haha, would like to see a video of it :)
