Well, Bongo, Cinnamon GCC, 72 grams of attitude, loves the taste of blood, had the joy of my company for the weekend.
Over all, went well! First morning, refused to come out of his sleeping cage, I had to take it out and put on the counter. He then climbed down onto his play stand. After me dodging multiple lunges because I was near HIS counter, the whole kitchen wrap around counter, I decided to show him mister towel! Funny, the only time he ever gets toweled is at the vet, but he knew very well what it was, and wanted no part of it! Never did catch him with it, but he then started stepping up on my stick. Without trying to prove how fast he can reach my hands! Day two, came out of sleep cage for me, had breakfast, took a few treats without trying to 'catch' me. So now, on to the honeymoon, he stepped up on my hand, with only an acceptable minor nip. Me being a guy, then pushed too fast and put him on my shoulder! Cool, easy! I'm walking around cleaning dishes, putting stuff away and he is having a grand time bouncing around, then,, He must have realized he had a reputation to protect, and he grabbed my cheek, piercing grabbed! Got him to let go, not easy, kept my cool, put him into his cage. Told him he really hurt me, then I walked away for a few minutes, A, I'm hurt, realized I pushed too fast, overloading him. And B, When I go home to my JoJo, I know I am going to have some explaining to do!
After taking him back out, he was quite good, first time he ever stepped directly out of his cage onto my hand without a major bite! Hung with me on the counter and even took his bath. Sunday night, I go home.
Fast forward to today, first time I am seeing him since our weekend, He was pretty good, let me give treats while he was still in his cage, normally VERY territorial! Let me pick him up, minor to moderate nip, and put him on his play stand for a bit.
Over all, progress!
