Hey! I am having a problem with all my fids because they are going nuts. My cockatiel, Artie, is having constant screeching 24/7. It could be because there's a girl cockatiel living across the street... Angel and Atlas are obsessively tearing and ripping everything they come across, even wooden tables and lamps. Apollo (budgie) is singing, not like normal though, really loud, really repetitive, and nothing like the sounds he usually makes. My dad's senegal, Bell, is doing skirt dances and kissing him to a point where it's almost violent and attacking my mom. I think this could be due to springtime (love is in the air ), but I might take them to the vet for annual checkups and ask about it there anyways. If mating season is the reason for all this weird behavior, is there any way to calm them down? I've ben giving them warm water when they freak out, and covering them consistently during the night, but it doesn't seem to be having an effect. I'd be thankful for any advice on how to get them to just relax.

I doubt Artie is screeching because of a girl tiel across the street. :) Birds are not like dogs that go into heart, where a male can smell it a mile away. ;)

Both Cockatiels and budgies can breed year round, they don't have a set breeding period. I'm not saying yours aren't acting hormonal, as they very well might be.

You said you're giving them warm water. For what? To drink?

I'd try re-arranging their cages a bit, provide them with some brand new toys, and see if that will peak their interests. :)
