african grey (Gizmo)..umbrella cockatoo (Wacko RIP)...military macaw (Rowdy)...blue fronted amazon (cookie RIP)
i have a african grey he is approx 15 years old he was never into biting wood or anything always just sat on his perch moved around a bit, i bought another cage smaller just for him so that my baby military macaw can stay in the really big cage alone. for the first few months gizmo the grey we left cage open and on top of other cage and he would be great but now i find he is chewing my wall and climbing down and chewing my rug i don't want to start locking his cage again but i am thinking i might, he has too much freedom what do you think? I also noticed that after a few months he would climb down and be at same level as the military macaw and would stay there for most part of the night even though the bars of cage are seperating them.

my husband told me today while he was cleaning the cage he left the door open and rowdy the macaw climbed up and sat next to Gizmo and they were fine together I am thinking maybe they should spend more time together but keep seperated at night and in own cages when we not around.

what is your opinion on this
