Female blue fronted Amazon. Born May 2016.
:green:

My boyfriends Blue fronted Amazon Connie was born in May and hand reared by a female breeder and we got her in July this year.

She loves her food and eats well and will 'step up' when a treat is offered but steps down swiftly after!

Recently she has shown an interest in me and my hair/head/glasses it seems.

Only today she flew onto our bed (her own choice) and sat with me just looking at me and getting closer and closer. She seems to be eyeing up my head! (A dominance thing?) The thing is that she hasn't allowed us to touch her yet with our hands e.g. Stroke her head etc yet she seems happy to be nearly nose to nose with me.

I'm not sure how to read her behaviour?!

Any help would be appreciated!

Some parrots are not snuggly touchy feely ones. Pretty much they all like to get head sratches, go against the feather lay, lightly at first. some like you to really dig in others more lightly. Shoulder priviledges are earned after you are SURE that the bird will not bite. A BFA can deliver a nasty bite to the face, so be sure. Make sure you both spend time with your bird, to prevent it from bcoming a one person parrot. Try to be consistent in the way you both ask fro step ups and any training. Pics of your baby are appreciated!!

Welcome!
Sounds like a very happy relationship in progress.
My advice to new folks... take any issue or topic which interests you, use the Search Tab and then read about it. I do that a lot, still. Almost every day. The people here are an amazing source of information, advice, and support.
I'm glad you found this place!
