Help my birds acting funny

So I took my bird to the store recently to get his wings clipped, a metal ring and a DNA test. He was fine all the way to the store (a little freaked out because of the cage but otherwise acting per usual) but after they had done all the things and we'd gone home he seemed very traumatised. He didn't make a peep during the whole wing clipping ordeal and once we got home he cuddled up to me (which is very strange because he usually likes to run around and chew on the keyboard keys and stuff like that) for the rest of the day then went to bed. The next morning he was the same wanting to cuddle and not run around and he's done the same today. He otherwise seems fine no signs of illness and the bird shop we took him to (which isn't a generic chain one but one that specialises in birds) they said he looked fine. Even when we put him in his cage while we're eating dinner not a peep like he used to. I need major help I feel like he's not 100% but I have no idea what to do.

Assuming you have checked him over for any signs of blood? If you see no physical signs that anything is amiss then he is probably just a little shocked by his ordeal and wanting the comfort of being close to you. If he doesn't go back to his normal self in day or two please see your AV as something is wrong. Sometimes birds can react to having been clipped, cannot blame them really IMO.

Were you with him when these things were carried out?
You do not say which store and if the people doing this are trained?
Did they pull as feather for DNA test?

Yeah I was just in front of him the entire time, they only took a little prick of blood and other than that he's never bled before and I can't see any blood now. The people are trained and as far as I can tell have many, many years of experience with birds. It was just a single local store called living jungle. But If he's not better I'll take up your advice and take him to the vet. Thanks

Give him lots of cuddles and hope all will be fine. Maybe instigate some play and this helps draw them out of themselves. Even if only handing him some paper straws or safe toys to chuck off the cage/desk/table?

He is confused at the moment, as far as he is concerned, you failed to protect him from an attack! They are highly intelligent buggers! As said, love, cuddles, and treats!

Thats a lot to happen at once to a little bird :) Great advice so far, and also, if he knows any tricks, do those! Once the trick is established and they know they are doing it right, if you are using force free training a little "Ping" goes through the amygdala that is pleasurable, meaning that just doing the trick is giving him positive reinforcement.

Also, try and stick to your routine if you have one. My guy is a huge brat if we vary his routine, but it definitely seems to help when we stick to it pretty strictly.

Best wishes!
