My parrot's friend flew away. Can my parrot understand and get used to it?

Green Cheek Conure (Name: Climber, he climbs everything :3)
Blue Cinnamon Conure (he looks like a kiwi, so his name is Kiwi :3)
Painted Conure (Name: Rainbow! :3)
I have two parrots, one Green Cheek Conure and Pineapple Conure, My pineapple conure joined my family for 8 days and unfortunately flew away.
The conure is 2 - 3 months old so I doubt it would be able to find food.
Though I am very upset about this, I really don't know how my GCC is reacting to it.
It just seems to be constantly screaming, trying to find the pineapple conure.
I will try to get it a new Pineapple Conure asap, but it will be a couple of months. However, will my parrot understand that the chances of finding it's friend is slim? How will my parrot react to this?

They were living in the same cage, always protecting each other and cuddling each other. I knew they were close, I just didn't expect the pineapple conure to fly away.

How long ago did your conure fly away? What steps have you taken to try and find him? You would be surprised how long some escapees can survive in the wild, or he may have landed on a friendly looking human and have been taken in.

You can list a lost parrot on the following worldwide register...

https://www.parrotalert.com/

Also you should notify your vet clinic and any others in your vicinity, in case someone might have handed him in. Here is a link you can use to find vets near you...

https://www.aav.org/default.aspx

You can also post messages on Facebook, particularly if you have a local Fb community where you live. One other member got their conure back within 24 hours this way. You can also make up flyers and stick them on telephone poles or walk around your neighbourhood and pop them in people's letterboxes - I've done that before and got my IRN back the same day.

Good luck in your search!

It's been about a day already.
I've been going around the vicinity trying to spot him. I live in Singapore, so there's nothing but high-rise buildings & tons and tons of trees. Not really sure which tree or building to start with.

There are unfortunately no avian vets within the vicinity of my house. The nearest one is about 6km away.

If he's that young, he won't have gone very far. Please don't give up. He's out there waiting for you to rescue him. Flyers help as well as Parrot Alert 911

Do not give up! Go out and walk and listen , if you have a secure travel cage for the other GCC , then I still zip ties all opening top and bottom and sides to do if dropped won’t spring open, then take him with you his calls will draw in your other GCC,
I lost my bird sbd he was spited 20 days later,,,, I haven’t got him back he is a heavily wooded area......

But please post on parrot alert, put up fliers ask people if they have heard him. Walk the area walk at least a mile out in each direction.
Good luck!!

Doesn’t have to be just avian vet clinics that you alert, if your bird happens to be picked up by someone he may get handed in to ANY vet clinic. If it was me I might even be inclined to let Jurong Bird Park know, just in case someone takes him there, you just never know...

I know, but I'm like only 14 currently. There isn't much I can really do other than just going out with my parrot and hoping to find this parrot.
This pineapple conure isn't fully weaned. It can eat solid food, but he can't eat all the food.
I doubt it can stay alive for very long without food and water, I got it from a pet store, it's not very accustomed to the wild.

It's also because this parrot isn't very cheap in my country. Somewhat around SGD$350.
I'm just hoping that someone is kind enough to take him in as a pet.

Other than this, I just really don't know how my other GCC is reacting to this.
It constantly shouts in my house just to find that Pineapple Conure; Don't really know how it's feeling.

Did you post in the Facebook Group "Lost & Found Birds SG"? You should also post in "BirdCraze" and "Birdies and Family SG (new)". In addition, I would post in "Lost and Found Pets in Singapore".

This is Singapore - you can still find him. I know birds who were lost for 2 weeks, then found again. Even a few months, they can be found again.

Whatever you do, do not reveal any details about his leg rings or id ring unless you are verifying in private message with the finder of your bird.

I know he's new to you, but does he respond to his name when called?

(As a side note, pricing should not matter when it comes to a life. When I lost my ekkie boy for almost 24 hours, I was going to offer double what I paid for him just to get him back if we couldn't find him within the first day.)

Yes I've recently posted.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that I find it meddlesome to give a reward for finding him.
I will kindly give a reward should someone be able to find the correct bird.
But, I'm just thinking that this parrot is not cheap and could already have been caught and fed by other people OR sold by someone in their attempt to get money.

There's a cinnamon found in Woodlands with red leg ring. It might be another member's, but worth a try. Not sure where you live, but some birds have the stamina to fly quite some distance so don't feel limited by your current location.
